Learn about Valerie...Born in Auckland, New Zealand. Valerie graduated from Auckland Girls College in Fine Arts. After completing college she was hired by "Whites Aviation" as an artist. Whites Aviation specialized in New Zealand aerial scenic series. Valerie received a scholarship to the U.S.A. This was an opportunity to further her education. Attending college in Salt Lake City, she met and married her husband, Willem, and raised one daughter and two sons. Valerie was hired by Max Factor Corporation and moved with her family to Australia. She managed the Training and development for the company for both Australia and New Zealand. After 3 yrs "down under," Valerie and her family returned to the U.S.A. Upon returning, Valerie changed her Major and received a (CHA) degree in Hotel Management from the University Lansing, MI. For the next 20 years Valerie managed Hotels and Hotel, Casino's. Valerie also taught at the University of Utah and also U.N.L.V. Nevada. After retiring from the hotel industry, Valerie felt that retirement was not for her. Valerie was hired by Estee Lauder Corporation as Southwest Regional Artist Coordinator. Valerie resumed her love of painting and has been working in a studio in Scottsdale Arizona. Her favorite medium is oils. She enjoys Plein Air Painting and does many Landscapes but enjoys all aspects of art. Valerie's art is in collections internationally and across the U.S.A. She has been working with Jan Holman Studio in Scottsdale Arizona. Valerie also has a studio in St.George, Utah. She believes that St.George is Gods canvas. Her work has been shown across the country. She has begun to explore other avenues of promoting her art work, including the internet.
